Choicemail One

Update 4/22/03: Since installing ChoiceMail on 3/23/03 it has intercepted well over 2700 pieces of junk email!!

When I got my first internet E-MAIL address, many moons ago, I’d actually look forward to getting messages from anyone!! But now, some 10 years later the situation has changed. Perhaps I’m unique in that I’ve had the same E-MAIL address since my first venture onto the ‘net, but really!! It was getting to the point where it was a dreaded chore to sift through the myriad offerings from the predators and charlatans that operate from the dusty corners of the Internet to find the relatively few “legitimate” messages in my inbox. On a few occasions I inadvertently deleted messages of some importance. Prior to trying Choicemail I’d looked into some of the various “Anti Spam” packages and found them to be lacking. They all relied on filtering techniques that the spammers, seemingly overnight, were circumventing. Truth be told, many of the filtering options these add-on packages offered could be invoked from my E-MAIL client directly (MS Outlook). Then along comes ChoiceMail One!! This program takes a completely different approach to the spam problem. When a message arrives it’s source is checked against a list of “approved senders”. If the source is not on the list a message is sent asking what the purpose of the contact is, if an answer arrives, another message is then sent with a 5 digit number in it, the “sender” has to copy the number into a new message and then reply. Only then does the message make it into your inbox! A nice feature is the ability to reject entire domains with a few clicks. Messages that don’t make it into your inbox can be previewed from Choicemail and approved or rejected. This application integrated seamlessly with MS Outlook on my system, it gave me the option of automatically adding all the contacts from my address book to the “approved senders “ list. You may download a 14 day trila from the company’s web site and purchase an activation code for $40.00, money well spent in my book. Very highly recommended
